Kofi Kinaata's 'Confession' killed my song-Mzbel reveals

AUGUSTINE ADDO

Explaining her claim in an interview with Berla Mundi, she said the beats to the Confessions song was originally made by Kin Dee for her Otanfo song which featured Kinaata.

But not long after releasing her track, she surprisingly heard Kinaata's song which was also produced by Kin Dee with the same beats.

According to her, she confronted Kin Dee over the beat and though the producer did not accept that he had given her beat to Kinaata, he admitted the similarity of the beats.

But despite costing her a potential hit, she pointed out that she was not bitter because 'sampling' of other people's beats is allowed in the industry.

Kofi Kinaata's song which was arguably the biggest song in the last year was the inspiration behind the Black Stars' celebrations during the 2017 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea and it helped him to three awards at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
